Where the Streets Have No Name
Posted on July 15th, 2016

Interest in ecommerce may be strong in developing countries, but etailers and delivery companies often face the challenge of delivering products to consumers without defined addresses. The Wall Street Journal reports on three companies that have used global maps and mobile apps to pinpoint locations: what3words, Fetchr and OkHi. What3words has agreements with posts and delivery services in Brazil and Mongolia; Fetchr operates in Dubai, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt; and OkHi focuses on its local base in Kenya.
All three companies have attracted new financing in recent months, according to the Wall Street Journal.
