Posted on July 1st, 2015

The unlimited strike by the worker’s union “ver.di” starting 8th June and since 19th June joined by the worker´s union “DPVKom” is going on.
As of yesterday, Monday 29th of June, a total of 32,000 of 180.000 postal workers are on strike.
All domestic 82 Letter and 33 Parcel Sorting Centers are affected, also the letter-, parcel- and joint delivery in rural areas.
Approximately 70% of Letters&Parcels are delivered on time, for the rest expect a delay by 2-3 days. Deutsche Post uses temporary employment agencies and 40.000 civil servants to minimize the delays. Also last Sunday exceptional deliveries by volunteers took place.

The OE Frankfurt and Niederaula have emergency plans in place, and were possible inbound transports are diverted to Domestic Sorting Centres. Since yesterday (29.06.) the OE Frankfurt also has support from agency workers, and the OE-administration offices are closed to support Operations. Inbound and Outbound Mail departing or arriving from/ at OE Frankfurt is delayed by 1-2 days.
Deutsche Post and the union “ver.di” agreed new negotiations on the 03rd July to find a solution for an end of the strike.
Deutsche Post wishes to apologize for any inconvenience caused and wants to thank you very much for your kind understanding.
Deutsche Post will send the next update on Thursday, 02nd July.
All information about exceptional events that have been reported by members or other operators can also be found on the IPC webs.
