On the Minds of Online Shoppers
Posted on September 12th, 2014

Fraud tops the list of concerns for online shoppers throughout the world, according to PayPal, the digital payment system owned by eBay. But posts and delivery services take note: people filling electronic shopping carts also worry about deliveries and returns. PayPal’s research shows that 32 percent of global online shoppers have concerns about the cost of returning goods, and 30 percent worry about being home when their purchases are delivered.

In those terms, Americans seem a bit more relaxed than many other shoppers around the globe. Only 26 percent of Americans worry about the cost of returning goods, compared with 45 percent in China, 43 percent in the UK and Canada, and 42 percent in Australia. Twenty percent expressed a concern about being home when their packages arrived, compared with 42 percent of respondents in Turkey and 41 percent in the UK.
